The Challenge

Solstad Offshore is a Norwegian ship owner in the supply business, which provides maritime services to oil-related activities all over the world. The company wanted to improve on board welfare by offering the crew modern communication and entertainment solutions.

The Solution

On board the vessels, each cabin will have a recreational area with a TV, radio, music and video. This gives the crew the opportunity to relax. The company wants to ensure its crew are comfortable on board the vessels.

The internal flow of information will also be elevated to a completely new level. Information on the vessel’s departure or arrival, the work ahead, helicopter schedules, safety meetings and all types of drills – even the day’s menu – can be posted on this system, and reach individuals in an easier and more secure manner than previously.

Outcome

Using solutions from Intelecom, Solstad Offshore has set a new standard for welfare on board its vessels Their Normand Subsea7 vessel was the first ship ever to have infotainment installed for the crew.
